Jobi Monkey was usually a cheerful little fellow. He loved swinging from vines, munching on sweet mangoes, and spending time with his father and his tiny puppy, Nips. But one bright morning in the rainforest, something happened that turned Jobi’s good mood upside down.
Jobi had been working all week on a secret project: a tall, twisty tower built entirely from bamboo sticks and giant leaves. He wanted to show his father how responsible he could be and planned to display the tower at the Rainforest Craft Festival. It was the biggest event of the season, and Jobi was sure his creation would impress everyone.
The night before the festival, Jobi carefully finished the last layer of his tower. He placed smooth pebbles around it for decoration and stepped back proudly. “Tomorrow,” he whispered, “everyone will see what I built.”
The next morning, however, things didn’t go as planned.
Jobi ran outside to admire his tower—but stopped in shock. His bamboo tower was bent sideways, leaves were scattered everywhere, and muddy paw prints covered the entire thing. Jobi’s heart sank. “Who did this?” he cried.
A tiny whimper came from behind a bush. It was Nips, his puppy, with mud on his face and a bamboo stick stuck in his fur. Before Jobi could even speak, his father appeared. “Oh, Jobi,” Father Monkey said with an awkward smile, “Nips got a little excited during our morning walk. I tried to pull him away, but by then… well… the tower was already knocked over.”
Jobi felt anger bubble inside him. “You knew I was working on this! Why didn’t you stop him? Why didn’t you watch where he was going?” He didn’t mean to shout, but he did. Nips’ ears drooped, and Father Monkey looked hurt.
Jobi stomped away and sat alone on a branch. He wasn’t just angry about the tower; he felt disappointed, ignored, and misunderstood. He had put so much effort into it, and it was ruined in seconds.
After a while, Father Monkey gently climbed up to him. “I’m sorry, Jobi. I should have been more careful. Nips didn’t mean to ruin anything—he just saw the tower and thought it was a playground.”
Jobi looked down at Nips, who crawled forward and placed a pebble at Jobi’s feet, as if trying to return part of the tower.
Jobi sighed. His anger softened. “Maybe we can rebuild it,” he said quietly.
And together, father, son, and puppy started again—this time as a team.Attach
