Every day in Monkey Forest starts with the soft glow of morning sunlight slipping through the tall trees, and for little Jobi Monkey, it marks the beginning of another exciting adventure. As soon as he opens his bright, curious eyes, he hears the gentle rustling of leaves—Dad Monkey is already awake, stretching his long arms and getting ready for the day. Jobi rubs his fuzzy face, yawns a big monkey yawn, and scampers over. Today is special because Dad promised to take him to the market for the very first time.
Jobi can barely contain his excitement as he hops onto Dad’s back. Together, they swing from branch to branch, then climb down the woven vines that lead toward the bustling forest market. The air is filled with wonderful smells—sweet fruit, fresh leaves, and the smoky scent of roasted nuts. Jobi’s eyes grow wide as he watches parrots selling berries, rabbits arranging baskets of vegetables, and squirrels chattering over shiny seeds. Dad greets everyone warmly, and Jobi mimics him, earning a few proud smiles.
Dad lets him choose a treat, so Jobi picks a plump, golden mango. They sit on a smooth rock while Jobi digs in, juice dripping down his chin. It’s messy, but it’s delicious—and Dad just laughs and wipes him clean with a leaf. After finishing their shopping, they head home with baskets full of food for the family.
Back at their treehouse, it’s time for bathing. Jobi splashes into the shallow forest stream, squealing as the cool water tickles his toes. Dad joins him, washing their fur with leaves that smell like mint. Jobi loves making bubbles and watching them float away. When they’re fresh and clean, they sit in the warm sun until their fur fluffs up like clouds.
Evening arrives with the sound of chirping insects. Jobi enjoys a simple dinner of fruits and nuts, feeling sleepy from the long day. Dad tells him a story about brave monkeys who explored lands beyond the forest, and Jobi listens closely, eyes growing heavier.
Finally, Dad tucks him into their cozy nest of soft leaves. Jobi curls up, warm and safe, holding his tiny wooden toy. As he drifts off to sleep, he thinks about the market, the splashing water, and the mango he loved so much.
And just before he dreams, he whispers, “What a day.”
